“A Car in the Dumpster…?” – Only at Cassill Motors!

The other day as I logged into my personal Facebook account I saw a funny picture looking back at me. “A car in the dumpster…?” Was the caption. One of my young friends had snapped the picture while waiting in the McDonalds drive-through beside our Williams Blvd Location. The picture was similar to this one:
While the dumpsters are designed to catch your eye, the real purpose of Cassill Motors “Cash for Clunkers” program is to save cars from the dumpster!
THE HISTORY: Do you remember a couple of years ago when the government kicked off the original “cash for clunkers” incentive? In an effort to boost the economy - and save the earth - (good things to do)... we were encouraged to take our cars to the nearest new car dealership and trade it in for something that gets better gas mileage. And many folks did just that.
But what happened to those cars that were traded? They were destroyed. Sent to the junk yard and crushed. In fact, the engines were locked up so that they could not even be used for parts! YouTube was flooded with videos of still-good cars being destroyed.
But I'm not here to talk politics.
Here at Cassill Motors, we are car lovers. We love fast cars… we love shiny new-er cars…. we love classic cars…. we love old reliable cars – from Festiva’s to Mercedes… big and small and everything in between.
And we love people. We love people who can afford expensive cars, and people who need less expensive cars too. We love kids who are just learning how to drive, or working people who need to get from here to there.
When we put those two loves together, oddly enough, we could say that our “used car business” was green before green became the fad. We have made a life out of reduce.... (the the cost), reuse.... (trade your car) and recycle (buy a used one)...!
What happens to your "clunker" when you participate in Cassill Motors Cash for Clunkers Program?
One of 2 fates awaits your clunker:
#1 If it is a decent vehicle, it is given to the Salvation Army for families in need.
Or #2 If it really is junk, we will get it running long enough to compete in the “Faster Pastor Race” at Hawkeye Downs in July. Area Pastors will race the “Clunkers” for a donation to their charity!
It is a really fun race to watch – if you only go to Hawkeye Downs for one race this year (or if you have never been there) you should plan on coming to this one!
Now that you know the story behind “Cash for Clunkers” I would love for you to share it! Go ahead – put this on your Facebook / Twitter and tell your friends about the "car in the dumpster…?” – Only at Cassill Motors!
